Bumbo Seat...

Tuesday Carrie was 11 weeks. She has done really well holding her head up so we decided to pull out the Bumbo seat (for those who dont know what that is because I didnt until I had Carrie, it is a little chair/seat you can put on the counter for them to sit and eat in when they first start eating solids. It has a little tray that attaches to it that isnt in these pictures...) So anyways, Carrie does pretty well in it! She cant stay in it for an extended amount of time yet, but she makes more and more progress every day! Here are some pics of these first attempts...

She is also getting better and better at picking her head all the way up during tummy time!

Happy Friday! haha

I don't like email forwards, but...

This one is pretty funny. Mainly because I pretty much agree with all of them!

Funny Thoughts is what this was called:

1. I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.

2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you Realize
you're wrong.

3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was
younger.

4. The letters T and G are very close to each other on a keyboard. This
recently became all too apparent to me and consequently I will never be
ending a work email with the phrase "Regards" again.

5. There is a great need for sarcasm font.

6. Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and
suddenly realize I had no idea what was going on when I first Saw
it.

7. How the heck are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

8. I would rather try to carry 10 plastic grocery bags in each hand than take
2 trips to bring my groceries in.

9. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear Your
computer history if you die.

10. The only time I look forward to a red light is when I'm trying to Finish
a text.

11. Was learning cursive really necessary?

12. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

13. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod And
smile because you still didn't hear what they said?

14. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars teams up To
prevent an idiot from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and
sisters !

15. MapQuest really needs to start their directions on #5.. Pretty sure I know
how to get out of my neighborhood.

16. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the
person died.

17. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and
you can wear them forever.

18. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

19. Bad decisions and bad experiences make good stories

20. Is it just me or do high school girls get sluttier & sluttier every year?

21. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when
you've made up your mind that you just aren't doing anything Productive for
the rest of the day.

22. There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going
to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

23. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me If I
want to save any changes to my ten page research paper that I swear I Did not
make any changes to.

24. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not Seeing
anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

25. As a driver I hate pedestrians, and as a pedestrian I hate drivers, But
no matter what the mode of transportation, I always hate cyclists.

26. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still Not
know what time it is.

27. It should probably be called Unplanned Parenthood.

28. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to
answer when they call.

29. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car Keys
in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey -
but I'd bet everyone can find and push the Snooze button from 3 Feet
away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time every time....

Happy Hump Day!

These are a few of my favorite things...

Ok so just a few of the things I am LOVING right now...

1) Minus a bad cold last week that kept Carebear up at night, she is sleeping between 6 and 8 hours at night for her long stretch then goes back to bed until 830 or 9! What a help!
2)how much she smiles. I could do things to make her smile all day because I never get bored seeing that smile! I know I am biased, but to me, it is the cutest smile I have ever seen and each one is a blessing.
3) how much she loves to lay on her back and squirm. When she was really tiny, she had some gas issues so we would bicycle her legs and she has taken that and run with it. She just kicks and kicks and smiles and smiles. it is too funny!
4) how when I walk in the room and she hears my voice, she starts looking around for me and smiles when she sees me
5) when I get her out of her crib in the morning and she smiles when she sees me
6) how much she and her dad have bonded. I love on the weekends when he is laying on the couch watching football and she is laid out on his stomach conked out.
7)how much she is babbling! Graham is in for it with 2 chatty women! not to mention 2 chatty dogs...

and there are SO many more things! I could go on and on. Graham and I could never have prepared for hoe much our lives would change, how tired we would be, how much time we would actually spend in the house, but all of it is so worth it and we are LOVING every minute. I thank God for this tremendous blessing every day multiple times. It's the best holiday season yet! Merry Christmas!

Bring on Santa Claus!

We are ready for Christmas at the Young house! I think besides Christmas morning itself, the thing I look forward to most about the holidays are the decorations (ok and the music...mainly Amy Grant Christmas...that one's for you Gracey!) So we had fun finding places for all our decorations in our new house this year. We probably go a little overboard, but we have fun doing it. So here are just a few of our decorations...

Graham did the lights...I told him we should just leave them on the bushes year round since we have so many bushes now! He refused. He isn't as lazy as me.
And yay for a big tree! We have higher ceilings here so we got to pick out a big'un this year!
Sorry dogs, your stocking has been replaced by Carrie's. Only 3 letters in JOY...
Dining room table...may add some holly soon.
Our 2 nativity scenes. Help us to remember the reason for the season.

And lastly, our snow village. I get a new piece every year to add and then Graham puts another one under the tree for me. We try to pick relevant ones... A Church, starbucks, a winery since we went there on our Honeymoon etc. This year we added a little pink stork yard sign that reads "It's a girl" which is too small to see, but was very fun to add and a dog park that actually has dogs that move around. There is a toy store under the tree to add next year...that one's for Carebear. Missy, this is for you! haha.

Merry Christmas!

Stats and Christmas Tree shopping...

We had our 2 month check up on Monday and doc said Carrie looks great! Her stats were:
Height: 23.5 inches--85th percentile
Weight: 11 pounds 11 ounces--70th percentile
Head: I dont know, but it was 70th percentile too.
Yay Carebear!

We also took her to Christmas Tree Village on Hillsboro Road to get our tree. This is where I have gotten my tree every year my whole life and I think they are so pretty and smell so good and I love the experience of going through the lit lot with the big fire going and picking out the perfect tree! So here are pics from Carrie's first time there...

Carrie had a little more fun than she could handle...
Next post you will see that tree decorated!

First Turkey Day!

We spent the Thanksgiving weekend in Columbia visiting all of Graham's family. We had a great time and Carrie got to meet many people she had not yet! She got to meet David's (Papa) dad and 2 sisters and their family and Cyndi's (Mimi) mom and sister and their families!

We stayed with Papa and Carrie and Papa had some fun playing before bed at night.
Here are 4 generations of Youngs!
Then we went to Mamaw's (the Virginia part of Carrie's name) for the feast. Mamaw is a fabulous cook and that is a meal I look forward to year after year. After the meal, we laid around and played some games which was hilarious and so fun. Here is a happy fat cheeked baby in her Thanksgiving gear...
Family pic.
Carrie really loved her Mamaw. She was so happy sitting with her and took a good long nap with her while the rest of us played games. Glad she could meet her other namesake!
Carrie got into her hand halfway through pictures...
Then Saturday was the Clemson Carolina game. This is a big rivalry game so Carrie had to be in her garnet gear to cheer on her dad's team! Luckily Carrie got to meet another person...Dana who took us to a cute Childrens store Friday after we ate lunch and we were able to find LOTS of stuff including some cute Gamecock gear! Here is a proud daddy!
and a proud Papa...
And the Gamecocks win! Graham and David had a great time at the game and we hung out with Aunt Pam and Uncle Tom and cheered them on from the condo. It was a great time.

We had a great holiday so thanks to everyone for hosting us. Carrie loved meeting everyone and is exhausted and has not stopped sleeping after a fun filled week! I have more posts coming up so stay tuned for 2 month stats and Christmas Tree farm shopping!
