Last week we went up to Rolling Rock in Pennsylvania just like we do every summer. For me, it is always SUCH a relaxing week even with the kiddos there :). I think it is the weather being cooler than Nashville and the pretty, rolling countryside all around us. But whatever it is, last week was another great week up there! We were in the cabin on the property as usual and our days were pretty much the same each day! We played at the house in the morning while Hayes napped and then we all went to the pool to swim and eat lunch before afternoon nap. At afternoon nap, I actually read a book. Yep, a book in a week. I LOVE to read and feel like I never get to anymore so it was such a treat for me. (Plug: I read "Unbroken" and it was amazing if you haven't read it.) Mom and Dad and Graham all golfed some which they enjoyed. We also went into the cute little town one day to shop and eat lunch, but that was the only thing we did other than hang out at the pool and the cabin! The girls were so good...happy and easy. Took Hayes a couple to get her naps as long as normal in a new place, but she did get the hang of it. Carrie got to sleep in built in bunk beds which she loved! She slept on the bottom of course, but she called it her "treehouse" bed. She slept until 8 every morning and napped for a really long time every afternoon...it was just so dark and cozy in there!! We have a sitter we LOVE there so most nights, she came and the adults went up to the club for dinner. Their food is amazing so it is such a treat! And Carrie gets SO excited when Barbara comes so she is not sad to see us leave. Hayes, on the other hand, I had to put to bed before we left because she was not so fond of a stranger in a new place. But she goes to bed at 6:45 so it was no big deal! Here are some pics from our week...
While Carrie and Dada were swimming, BA and Hayes lounged by the pool. If it makes you nervous that it looks like Hayes could fall, she wouldn't because she is fat and unmotivated so she is totally happy just like this and I am totally happy with it as well!!! So funny. My dad was shocked and how chill and easy Hayes is (he is used to crazy Carrie!)
The baby pool there is AMAZING and always a hit. It is huge and gated with grass and a sandbox around it so we just spend the whole time there.
Hayes sat in the grass by the baby pool a lot and was totally happy. She also LOVES the camera which C never has.
Serious play time.
They have 'smoothies' at the snack bar which seemed more like icees to me, but nonetheless, Carrie wanted them every day!
My cute girls on the 4th of July.
BA and his girls.
This girl LOVED the turtle fountain obviously.
This is our front yard and Graham pulled the chair and table out so when he had to work, this is where he worked. Pretty nice home office!
Waiting for the fireworks on the 4th...
They were amazing and RIGHT over us. They were huge and Carrie was mesmorized. I am not sure anything besides TV has ever gotten her to sit still this long. We could not decide whether to keep her up or not and then were SO glad she did. It was such a special memory even if she didn't go to bed until 10:30 :).
One morning out in the front yard while we had our coffee.
A few pics of the girls in the front yard...
Love each other so much.
This picture CRACKS us up. It totally sums up these girls. Carrie just wanting to squeeze Hayes and Hayes being a little nervous about all of it...
Some family pics...
Ok the way this shirt is hanging, I look pregnant. I am not.
And Cy-Cy and BA with their girls.
Such a fun week!!! Cannot wait for next year!

ReplyDeleteI laughed out loud at your comment about Hayes! My first thought was oh no she's about to fall off that lawn chair. Too funny that she will just relax there! Your girls are too cute together!!
