What a fun and busy and crazy Easter weekend! Even more special this weekend since Papa came in town! It was not too cold, but it was not a sunny weekend which was a bummer, but we made it work and the girls still had a lot of fun!
Yesterday we did an egg hunt at the McGuigans house. It was cloudy, but no rain so we got to do it outside which was nice! Here is C all ready to go!
She had fun bouncing!
Hayes was not a fan of a lot of it, but she loved the hunt! She is a pretty good little hunter :)
She was getting a lot of eggs and C was helping her and then one popped open and she saw treats inside and it was over! haha.
Then it was the big kids turn. Here is C with some of her sweet buddies.
Walking with Maddie to start.
All the kids lined up. C kept saying "We can't start until they say go!" She always likes the rules laid out.
Then she was off. She passed a lot of eggs and picked certain ones out. Hilarious. So different than me...I always just grabbed as many as I could. She had a method!
Saw me taking pics and gave me a quick pose haha.
She and Mary Windham had fun comparing...
and then sharing...
It was a lot of fun and a good couple hours outside with friends. After that, C had her first soccer practice. It was hilarious. A bunch of kids just running all over the place!!! Gonna be an interesting season.
This morning, we woke up and the Easter Bunny had come :). C wanted a Dorothy dress...
And H got some Mickey things and other goodies...
Then we had a little egg hunt and H actually got a lot more than C which is not what I expected. C got about 10 and then went back to her toys whereas Hayes did not give up until there were no eggs left!!! She was very proud.
Carrie showing H some of the things the Easter bunny brought her.
Dorothy...
Then it was time for Church. Mimi made the girls the most beautiful dresses. I so wanted a great pic of them together in them, but it just did not happen. Good news is Hayes' 18 month photo shoot is coming up so we will wear them again for that and get some way better than I could ever take!
Then it was off to Aunt Allison's house as we do every year. Egg hunt had to be inside because of rain :/...first time in many years. Girls still enjoyed it and we had a delicious lunch as well!
Chocolate from an egg...mmm
Dramatic always...
yummy sandwich!
Papa just left and we are all pooped from the weekend. Good thing the Easter bunny brought some fun new toys to play with while laying low at home the rest of the afternoon!!!
We definitely remember what we are really celebrating today and are so thankful every day for the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross for us. We are so undeserving of all His mercy and Grace and try to never forget it any day, not just today. Jesus Christ is risen today...Halleluia! I asked Carrie if she could tell me what we were really celebrating today and she said "Jesus died on the cross." And I said do you know why? and she said "To save us from all our mistakes!" Love. Happy Easter to you and yours.
