Turkey Day 2012

We always travel the whole week of Thanksgiving and we love it. We visit Graham's family and go down to Ford in the week. This year we left Sunday and stopped in Knoxville to see our friends the Chesworths. It was so nice to break up the trip since the car ride with H was like this...
Turned out she had an ear infection but we did not know that leg 1 of the trip (Nash to Knox) or leg 2 (Knox to Cola) so those were long rides! So stopping on the way was much needed and we had fun seeing them and C had a blast with Jack. The next morning we drove the rest of the way to Columbia. Mimi's best friend (Mimi is Graham's mom) let us use her house since she was out of town that week. She has 2 young grandchildren so the house was perfectly set up for us which was so nice! Made for a nice home base as we jumped all over for a few days! And once we found out that H had ear infection (thanks Columbia urgent care) and got her on meds, she was much happier :). And she loved the stairs inside and outside there...

And playing outside!

I did not take hardly any pics as we ran around for 3 days so I am bummed! We did a lot...spent some times at Mamaws, went to the zoo with the Granger girls, had lunch with Dana, went to the Mass General Store with Papa to get candy and of course had a wonderful Thanksgiving! It was so much fun and the girls loved their time with family.

At Aunt Pam and Uncle Tom's house Thanksgiving morning. Hayes was always happiest outside...

Her stink eye face.

Thanksgiving lunch at Mamaw's. She always makes the yummiest food and Allison (Graham's cousin) helped her this year and made mac n cheese which made C's day! After we ate, we stuck around for an hour to let our food settle before getting on the road. And I love these pics of the girls and their dada as the snuggled him.

About to jump on dada.

And then they were pooped!Even C napped in the car.
We got down to Ford Thursday evening and had fun seeing some old friends there. We had a blast as we always do there. It is our little heavenly place here and we love it.

Friday night they had an Oyster Roast which are Graham and my favorite events. We brought the girls for a little bit then took them home to a sitter. Here are a few pics from there...
All but me! Love this pic!
C Posing.
Family Pic with mom's head in the background.
C danced to the band. While I went to put Hayes in bed, apparently she danced with a couple boys and had a blast! Too funny.
I wish I had a picture of her and BA on the hayride. They had fun and went through all the big, pretty trees in the dark and saw the spanish moss and the river. Carrie kept asking my dad if there were ghosts...I think it seemed a little spooky to her, haha. And she roasted her first marshmallows. In true Carrie fashion, she liked the plain roasted marshmallows more than the s'mores and she ate a lot of them!

An example of the peacefulness of this place. Even C sat still while they fished.
And they caught one!
We had lots of fun there...the men golfed, mom and I took girls to the clubhouse for lunch, we played on the playground, we took golf cart rides and just relaxed. We were tempted to stay another day, but decided to get the girls back for school, etc. It was a LONG drive home, but the girls were good...C watched movies and didn't make a peep and H was actually pretty good at entertaining herself once she felt better! It was such a good week with family, but we are all exhausted and just getting back into the routine here. We did get all decorated for Christmas on Monday after we got back so that post is up next!
