Visit with Santa...

This morning Santa came to Belle Meade and we (my mom & I because Graham is out of town) went to see him! Carrie had been so excited about this and I thought she was going to love it. She even tried to push to the front of the line when we got there! But right before her turn, a little girl got up there and started screaming and that was a game changer! Carrie decided she no longer wanted to sit on the man's lap who made the previous girl cry and cried when we tried to walk her up there. We ended up dragging her up to his lap and this was the face she made most of the time she was there...

We put Hayes up there with them and Carrie actually smiled for us! She was finally warming up and warmed up enough to tell Santa she wanted "cars" for Christmas. Not something she has mentioned until today, but that is what she told him!

My girls in their sweet matching dresses their Mimi made them. Hayes is wearing the one Carrie wore as a baby and Mimi made a big one for Carrie to match! They looked so sweet!

They also gave out stockings full of junk which Carrie, of course, loved and they had a treats table which was an even bigger hit! She ate a Christmas tree cookie and wanted more so we had to ask for a box to take a cupcake home in for later. She carried it so carefully the rest of the time and did not take her eyes off of it! I know it is the first thing she will ask for when she wakes up from her nap. So overall, after a rough start, she did really well and told us in the car that she had so much fun and that she loved Santa and that he is so nice! So maybe when he comes to school, she will like him the whole time!! And as you can tell from all the pictures, Hayes slept through the whole event and did not care who held her be it me, Cy-Cy or even Santa as long as she got to keep napping! She will feel so different next year...

Also wanted to throw in a couple other Christmas pictures...girls in their matching pajamas by the tree...

(I think for this next one I wanted her to look up at me so I said "Where's mama?" and that's why she is pointing, but I love it!)

And Carrie has been picking up my camera a lot lately (scary) and so we have been having fun making "cheese" faces at the camera and practicing big smiles for pictures. Actually got a couple cute and goofy ones!

For now, both of my girls are sleeping after an exhausting visit with Santa!
