So this weekend we celebrated Paula and her soon to be little baby (Paula+Baby=baula). Paula is one of my best friends from Furman and we had a small weekend getaway with some of my dearest friends that I rarely get to see! Christina's parents were so nice and generous to lend us their mountain house at Lake Toxaway for the weekend and let me say that this is no ordinary mountain house! It is so beautiful and peaceful and wonderful and we are SO appreciative to them! So we arrrived around lunch time on Friday and spent the whole rest of the day on the screened porch eating, drinking some wine (or lots) and catching up. It was perfect! We then grilled some streaks and had a yummy dinner at home!
Here are Christina (hostess) plus guest of honor and her precious pup, Coco. Doesn't Paula look ADORABLE?!? I sure did NOT look that cute 35 weeks pregnant!

Robert came for Friday night and it was so good to see him! He lives in NYC now so I haven't seen him in a few years. Robert was one of my roomies Senior year. Here we are trying to season some steaks when the bottom of the salt falls out. It was hilarious and reminded me so much of the good old days of cooking together at our house!

Here we are enjoying our dinner in...

Beautiful view...just enjoying the night...

Here are Sarah (aka Swinny) and Ann Claire (I feel it is necessary to say here that Paula was my big sister in KD and Ann Claire was her big sister...we were and are a close KD fam!)

Saturday we slept in (which is like 830 in our worlds) and then stayed in our PJs and drank coffee on the porch until lunch! Before Robert left he made us some yummy quiche so that tided us over so we could be lazy and then saunter to a late lunch at the club at 2...here we are about to head down to lunch...

After lunch it was shower time!! So we know Paula is having a boy, but they were not decided on a name before this weekend so we could not do personalized items. However, I believe Paula and her husband, John have decided on a John Robert Jr, called 'Jack'...I mean, duh!, that name rocks! So pumped!

Swinny made some yummy bellinis! We wanted Paula to be able to just taste them so we gave her a Jack sized glass...

Paula looked amazing...and her dress isn't maternity...and it was a small. I am jealous.

We may have had a little bit of fun with the baby things and Coco...

And she did not mind sitting in the bumbo AT ALL...stayed there for a while!

The shower was so fun and Paula got REALLY cute stuff! After that we got ready for dinner and then headed back down to the club for another delicious meal. Here we are pre dinner...

Dinner was on the patio with a gorgeous view of the golf course and the meal was delicious and tons of fun. We had a great weekend celebrating Paula and baby Jack! Paula, we love you and are so excited for you guys! Jack is going to be precious and we will love him just as we love you!!! Girls, it was SO fun seeing you and thank you again to the Minotty's for sharing your house and your club with us! We are so grateful!
It looks gorgeous and like so much fun....so NICE to get away for a weekend. I think it really helps to be a better mom...:)
