For Labor Day weekend we took Carrie up to Virginia Beach for the first time to see her Mimi and Fran. Our flight Friday was not until 7:30 pm so we were a little nervous about that because that is past her bedtime and it was her first flight...could have been bad! But it wasn't! Carrie did not cry at all, unfortunately she did not sleep at all either, though! She just wanted to play and look at books and talk which was fine, but a bit difficult in such a small space! It went well, but the hour seemed long for sure! So by the time we got there and got her in her car seat, she was out! But we were really proud of her.
We had beautiful weather all weekend...I mean it felt like Fall in the mornings and evenings and during the days I do not think it got above 80! plus there is always a nice breeze, so we were really lucky, especially with dodging hurricane Earl!
Here are Carrie and her Mimi and Dada reading books on the patio Saturday morning.

On the beach, they have a boardwalk with a bike path next to it so Mimi rented Carrie a chariot to ride in! She did pretty well in it as long as she didn't slide down in it...we had to stop a few times to lift her back up to sitting!

We stopped at the big sandcastle for some pictures, but none of them were that good sadly.

When we took Carrie to the beach in May, she was not sure about it at all, but this time, she loved it! She loved the birds, the water and how she could walk on the harder part of the sand down by the water and know that if she fell, it wouldnt hurt!

Her and Mimi checking out the birds...she liked the birds so much that when Mimi would say "Wanna go see the birds?" she would get so excited and kick and squeal and one time she even tried to say "Birds" which came out more like buds.

Mimi had a beach chair for her and a baby pool so in case she had not liked the sand, she had plenty of other options, but she loved the sand so she really didnt have much time for the chair and the pool!

Beach girl.

She walked all over the place!

One of her favorite things to do was play in the waves. She would head straight for the water with no fear! Good thing we start swim lessons soon...

Little footprints, big footprints.

I am not going to let you take a picture of me!

Carrie and dada strolling the beach...

Swinging in the waves was her favorite!

Love.

The we threw her highchair outside for a spaghetti O feast. Mimi had bought her some and I knew better than to let her eat those in her house (especially without a dog clean up crew) so she loved eating them on the porch. Here she is literally trying to eat them off the tray because she could not get them in fast enough. I eventually had to use a spoon...

But that did not help the mess!

We had such a fun weekend and Mimi and Fran made it really easy on us since we were flying and had gotten a car seat, a high chair and a crib so all the big stuff was waiting for us! They also had bath toys, beach toys, books, a baby, food etc for her so that was such a help. We ate some really good seafood while we were there, too, which was a treat!
Thanks, Mimi and Fran! We had a great time!
Now Carrie is fast asleep after another good flight...
These pictures are precious! Well most of them...I gagged a little on the last two!!! Carrie is SO freaking cute!
