Today we took Carrie out to Gentry's Farm like we did last year. She has been so excited about it and I wanted to get it in before Hayes gets here. She even got to pick out her Halloween shirt applique this year and she picked out a spider...no surprise since she loves "Ipsy" Spider. So we got all ready this morning and headed down to Franklin.
We got there right when they opened which was a good decision because it filled up fast! The first thing she saw was a scarecrow which she loved! She is very into Scarecrows right now.
Then we unsuccessfully tried to get a cute picture of her on the Gentry's pumpkin truck...
That was her "laughing" face. As good as it was going to get.
She found a play house right off the bat that she loved! She wanted to "cook" and sit down and "eat."
Then a little boy came in and they swept the house together.
She also loved the Indian teepees.
We did the tire swing for a while.
Attempt at a family pic. Not too bad.
Loved the Petting Zoo, but wanted to "go in it" since she could at her party.
These grain and corn tables were a hit! We dug and played here for a long time!
Then they had a little maze through hay bails with tunnels and slides and it was really cute and fun. Of course we had to do it a few times!
I really wanted to get a cute picture of her by the growth chart like we did last year, but the only way I could even get her to be still was by asking her to count the numbers like Dora (in Spanish) which she stopped and did. She was just so excited by all the activity! But as you can kind of see, she is officially over 3 feet! (37.5 inches at her doc appt..."well over 100th percentile" as doctor said...she just keeps growing and growing!!!)
In the munchkin maze, there were lots of scarecrows so that made it fun!
Then BA came!!! She was so excited to go back and show him all the fun stuff she had been up to.
Highlight of the day: She tried popcorn for the first time. She loved it and wanted her own bag. So we took a little play break to down some popcorn!
And we ran into Jet! And shared some popcorn with him. It was so exciting to run into him!
Then we took her on the Hay Ride. At first she was not sure she wanted to go, but when Jet said it was fun, she agreed. And it was cute. We got to see all the baby cows. She wanted to touch them which was obviously not an option. So we had some beverages and enjoyed the show!
And finally, she got to pick out pumpkins! She said this was her favorite part (although I think the barn where you climbed a ladder and went down a slide was). She wanted to pick this one up so much, but she finally caved and said it was too heavy.
Loading up the wheel barrow...
And helping dad roll it to check out.
She got these 2 just for her and insisted on carrying them to the car. Let me just say it was now 11:10 and South Carolina kick off was at 11:20 so Graham was less than impressed with how long it took her to walk to the car, but he was patient because it was so cute. She made it almost the whole way with both and finally gave me the bigger one and said "This one is big and really heavy!" in an exasperated voice. It was so cute.
Let's just say it was a success! After 2 hours there, we had to go, but she would have stayed all day I think! She was so tired that we had to keep her awake in the car to get her home for lunch before nap. But she has been talking about it ever since. She is so much fun right now and I am thankful for a fun family day as one of the last as a family of 3! Now I think I have checked everything off my list that I wanted to do before Hayes arrives and I am officially ready! 2 weeks until due date, but ready now :)
