Baby Shower take 2!

So this past weekend was my last baby shower! 10 of my mom's dear friends (and surrogate aunts to me my whole life) threw this shower at Laura Riley's house. It was the "adult" shower if you will which is funny to say since I guess all my friends are adults too, but you get it! So we not only had a group of ladies who have all had some impact on my life, but also all the family including Graham's mom all the way from Virginia Beach! So it was a great group of people who are all really special to me and it was so.much.fun. Not only was it fun, but it was really a special shower. As I mentioned before, I have known all of these ladies for so long and they have all been such dear friends of our family...they have really been through it all with us. I mean the good, the great, the bad, the worst. So it is always a special time when we can actually get together to celebrate something...in this case, a new life for the Young/Webb families. And let me tell you, celebrate we did! The Riley's house looked gorgeous with beautiful flowers everywhere, including the mailbox, delicious food including soup and chicken, tomato and homemade pesto sandwiches on focaccia bread, a wonderful group of people, and a group of gifts that brought me to tears a few times. Below are a few pictures...

Beautiful flowers done by the very talented Becky Campbell...

Left to right: Mary Simonsen(she is the one to credit for Carrie's adorable room! and also a hostess), Mia Abernathy (hostess), Louise Baird (hostess) and Ann Nesbitt
Oooh the presents! I was so blessed and got so many wonderful things including things such as her bassinet, jogging stroller, a hand smocked gown Cyndi made for her to come home in, a framed needlepoint from Aunt Missy (pic below), her hamper, her pack n play, tons of cute outfits, blankets, her monitor, a Boppy, silver cups and a silver spoon to be engraved and the list goes on and on! Everyone was so wonderful and generous and Carrie is SET! She is not only geared up and has a cute room, but she has the CUTEST little clothes you could ever imagine!
Needlepoint made by Missy...definitely made me teary. It is so cute and so beautiful and will be hung in her nursery ASAP...
Silver cup from "Big Carrie"
The shower was so fun and so special so thank you to all who hosted and attended! Carrie is so blessed to have so many wonderful people who will care about her! And the joke at the end from the hostesses was "How are you going to feel when all 10 of us show up in the delivery room?" You laugh, but the answer is I would feel honored to share such a special day with so many special people so please bring the Chardonnay and head on down! Carrie will be antsy to meet all of you...
